Steve Bennett – General Manager, SSBS employee since 2019

Steve Bennett has been with Silver State Barricade and Sign since 2019. Bennett is a native of Helena, MT., and spent 20 years in Spokane, WA. as a baseball player and coach at his Alma Mater, Gonzaga University. Bennett moved to Reno/Sparks in 2015 to become an assistant baseball coach at the University of Nevada. After coaching through the 2019 season, Bennett became the General Manager of SSBS in September of 2019. He has a degree in Human Resource Management and a Masters Degree in Business Administration, both from Gonzaga University. In his free time, Bennett enjoys hanging out with his family, coaching, teaching, and being a dad. Bennett and his wife, Abby, have 3 kids, Cullen (10), William (8), and Murphy (5), as well as a Beagle pup named Roo. Ross Smith – Operations Manager, SSBS employee since 2017 

Ross Smith has been with Silver State Barricade and Sign for over 3 years now. Smith is a native of Sparks, NV and attended Spanish Springs High School, before attending Truckee Meadows Community College. Smith has been in the construction business his entire life and has worked with multiple businesses in and around the greater Reno/Sparks area. He is a certified TCS, and is also certified in multiple pieces of heavy equipment, certified by OSHA, and certified to drive a forklift. Smith lives in Spanish Springs with his 2 dogs, Libby and Lacy. In his free time, Smith enjoys fishing, target shooting, and camping. Dave Eaton – Traffic Control Manager, SSBS employee since 2003 

Dave Eaton is the longest tenured employee of Silver State Barricade and Sign. After being offered a job at SSBS at a young age, Eaton has never left. Eaton began working at SSBS back in 2003 and became the Traffic Control Manager in 2017. Eaton is a native of Sparks, NV, and Reed High School before starting his career in the construction industry. He is a Certified ATSSA Traffic Control Supervisor, certified OSHA 30, and a certified Graco Repair Technician, as well as a very skillful hand around the shop. Eaton’s job entails working in the field as a supervisor, drawing Traffic Control Plans, and overseeing the SSBS Traffic Control Office. In his free time, Eaton enjoys camping, biking, off-roading, spending time with family, and finishing projects around the house. Sign Shop 


Roland Hall – Sign Shop Manager, SSBS employee since 2009 

Roland Hall has been the Sign Shop Manager for SSBS since 2009. Hall is a native of North Bend, Oregon, and went to North Bend High School before attending Antelope Valley College in Lancaster, CA. Roland is a US ARMY veteran with over 30 years of professional experience in Design and Graphic Art. Hall is a member of the International Letterheads Association and a recipient of the Governors Award of Excellence in the Arts. As the leader of our Custom Sign Shop, Roland is committed to Customer Service. We are all proud of the fact that our custom sign shop has never missed a Customer Promise on any order in the past 10 years. Hall is an accomplished chef, enjoys grilling and cooking of any kind, and loves going to concerts. Hall is married to Cheryl Soule, our Administrative Assistant and Flagger Manager. Bret Dube – Sign Shop Supervisor and Traffic Control Plan Supervisor, SSBS employee since 2010

Bret Dube is the SSBS jack-of-all-trades. Dube is very adept at drawing Traffic Control Plans, a Certified Traffic Control Supervisor, and an excellent sign designer and craftsman. With close to 20 years of experience in the industry, Dube is qualified to tackle any of your traffic control or sign needs. A native of Antioch, CA., Dube went to Live Oak High School before entering the workforce. As well as a TCS, Dube is also certified as a forklift operator and certified OSHA 10. A devoted father to his son Raymond (19), Dube is also a 2nd-degree black belt in Jiu Jitsu and Ninjitsu, and enjoys art of all kinds. Dube leads fitness programs and promotes a great sense of zen in our sign shop accented with kind-heartedness and a sense of humor. Kendra Mallory – Sign Shop Graphic Designer, SSBS employee since 2020

Kendra Mallory started with SSBS in February of 2020.  Kendra is a very skilled Graphic Designer who has been in the graphic design business for the last 6 years. Mallory was born and raised in Reno, NV and attended college in Lewiston, ID., at Lewis-Clark State College, where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Graphic Design and Print Technology. She also has extensive knowledge of graphic design software, including Illustrator, Corel Draw, InDesign, and much more. Mallory is a certified open-water diver and enjoys studying paleontology, drawing, crocheting in her free time. She chose to work at SSBS because she wanted to apply her skills in graphics and work hands-on with projects from start to finish.

   

 

Traffic Control


Cheryl Soule – Admin Assistant and Flagger Manager, SSBS employee since 2011 

Cheryl Soule has been with SSBS since 2011. As well as being our administrative assistant, Cheryl also takes care of all of ours, and your, flagging needs. Cheryl started as an on-call flagger but was quickly promoted to Flagger Manager. Originally from Portland, OR., Cheryl graduated from Estacada High School and then attended Portland State. As a former athlete, excelling in Softball and Gymnastics, Soule has a good work ethic and a knack for teaching. Soule is a flagger instructor, as well as being an ATSSA certified TCS and a certified Notary. She is married to our sign shop manager, Roland Hall, and enjoys quilting, sewing, and knitting. Thomas Musso- TCS, SSBS employee since 2017 

Thomas Musso is another of our ATSSA Certified TCS’s. Born in Apple Valley, CA., Musso attended Apple Valley High School before receiving his AA in Liberal Arts from Victor Valley College. As well as being certified TCS, Musso is also certified OSHA 10, and has a gold certificate in Drafting and a gold certificate in Automotive. Musso chose SSBS because of the opportunity to hone his TCS skills as well as working for owners who appreciate his hard work and are trustworthy. Musso is very much a family man. Musso and his wife, Cheryl, have 2 young daughters, Zoe (3) and Willow (1), that they enjoy spending time with during his off time.

 

Tina Sorensen- TCT, SSBS employee since 2019 

Kristina (Tina) Sorensen is one of SSBS’s hard working TCT’s. Sorensen was born in California and then moved to Reno, NV., and attended Reno High School. Sorensen has worked in the security industry, the construction industry, and the foodservice industry. She is a certified TCT, has an OSHA 10 certification, and also has a certification in Food Service Management. Sorensen wanted to be a part of SSBS because it was a family owned business and really felt like it was a family company when she did business with them. She really enjoys doing anything outdoors, is a huge movie buff, and was also a member of the JROTC while in high school.

Dax Lasell – TCT, SSBS employee since 2019 

Dax Lasell is a hard working TCT and member of the SSBS family. Lasell was born and raised in Reno, NV., and attended Reed High School in Sparks, NV., before entering the work force. Lasell is a jack of all trades, as he can work as a mechanic, a TCT, a flagger, and all around handyman. Lasell has held many jobs in the construction industry, but chose SSBS because of the no-nonsense approach to business and the sense of inclusion he felt after he met the owners. In his free time, he likes to work on improving and rebuilding vehicles, working on his home, or helping others fix their vehicles and homes.
